A: Alberta’s contributions to film history are often overlooked. I want to capture the stories of filmmakers, crews, and communities who brought these productions to life — preserving their legacy and inspiring future generations of creators.

A: The documentary is written, directed, and produced by Richard Cleveland, a Calgary-based filmmaker with over 35 years of experience in broadcasting, media, and content creation. Richard is best known for his six-year run hosting The First Layer, a popular 3D printing YouTube series.

Q: What stage of production are you in?
A: We are currently in pre-production: writing, researching, building a master list of filming locations, and scheduling interviews with industry veterans. Filming will begin soon, with release planned for 2026.
